History
" 1876 Bed and Breakfast" takes its name from the year it was built. "
Originally built for the McCullough Family Farm, where crops, dairy and beef cattle were raised over the years and normal livestock were for sale like pork, chickens, sheep and horses, (then the horses were used for plowing, sowing, harvesting and transportation).
Today this location is the headquarters for Ladave Farms where only horses are cared for as part of the current family's horse rescue operations. These majestic animals are available for saddle rides and buckboard style carriage rides, between training & placement. This is subject to what rescues are available at the time. The Farm has only had 4 family owner/operators in its 150 year history.
Originally 33 acres surrounded the B&B, today there are 50 acres of rolling hills, 2 creeks, pond and several springs in the pastures and fields. The grounds are surrounded on the south and east by a 750 acre county park with tennis courts, ball diamonds, soccer fields, many picnic pavilions, 2 fishing ponds and a competition BMX track all nestled among wooded and open horse riding trails and hiking trails.
Across Markle Rd., on the south side of the farm there is a 350 acre Country Club with a fine dining area and golfing available. We are looking forward to making your stay a relaxing and memorable one. Hope to see you soon!
